Eben started daycare this week, which was tough for me. Dropping him off on Monday was hard because he has stranger anxiety and cried when almost all the workers approached him. Luckily by the time my mom and I left, he had found at least one girl that he wasn't afraid of. When Dane and I picked Eben up after what felt like 30 hours, Eben was quite honestly the happiest boy I have ever seen and was acting so silly. This made me feel better.
Monday night we were surprised at 11:00pm by a baby waking up with a croupy cough (AGAIN!) and within an hour, the stridor (or troubles breathing) started to take effect. It wasn't as bad as his previous episodes, but the night was young and history shows that the stridor gets worse as the night goes on. So, at midnight, I brought him into the ER (our family's 5th visit in about three months...ugh!). The waiting area was bursting at the seams. I have never seen it so full. I walk in with a crying baby who just sounds horrible and everyone is looking at me with pity. Hopefully that meant that they didn't mind when the staff let us jump in front of all of those people in line (chumps! haha). I guess having a baby who has troubles breathing always puts you to the front, thank God. He was quickly better with treatments and now we have some meds we can give him if this happens again that will hopefully prevent ANOTHER trip to the ER. Oh, by the way...I took Eben to the ER all by myself, which was a very big deal as I had not been picking him up much at all. Honestly, it felt very good to feel like his momma again and be the one who takes care of him when he needs it most.
My blog has been seriously lacking in pics of Eben lately as I have not been taking any. On Tuesday I decided that is going to go back to normal too. Here are some new pics of our growing little man. I can't believe he is almost 10 months old.
